Vagal Nerve Stimulation seems to be a very promising treatment for epilepsy. It does not involve any neurosurgery and is similar to a pacemaker procedure. The coolest part is that when someone feels they are about seize, they place a magnet over the mechanism hidden under the skin (like a pacemaker). This forces the mechanism to stimulate the Vagus nerve via a series of mechanical processes and the seizure can be prevented. It's very interesting.

@lovinheehee not true, I typically can get seizures from anywhere between flashing lights (tv, computer, strobe lights...), menstrual cycle, sleep deprivation, and stress.

If you hear what the Doctor has mentione "Over half the cases, the cause has not been found". In Arabic "Jinn possession" ( Evil spirit possession). Remember Doctors take science before the fact of religion. If you know someone with Epilepsy, bring them to a Muslim Imam. Let the Imam know of the symptoms. If your not religious he may tell you what you might be able to do. Other than that if you don't believe in God than your stuck with Epilepsy.

my friends 1 year old cousin died? from a seizure. she had epilepsy. and you know what its not funny at all. it hurts way too much to see them and here people laugh at something very dangerious that could kill them. "Why Post Videos Of Seizures?!" people need to see the truth of epilepsy and seizures and posting videos of seizures is doing just the exact opposite! so everyone out there who laughs at them, how about laughing at someone you care about dieing from a seizure!

@numro1chapo It does seem to help, although I dont have the luxury of medical cannabis I smoke it regulary, and it does seem to help. After a while of smoking it reduces some of my symptoms such as blurred vission and light anomalies. Oh and the calming affect works wonders :)

We have a patient that had over 3000 sezures a year. After 10 months of care she had only 3 seizures in 2 months. Her neurologist was excited to hear how well she was dong until he found out that Dianna attributed her improvment due to chiropractic care. Well it has been 5 years since she started treatment and guess what?? She just got her drivers license. Check out her testimonial at our page.

I don't understand why if you had a brain injury your child would have a 5% chance of developing epilepsy. Isn't that following Lamarck?

The ancients called epilepsy the falling sickness. They believed those who suffered from it were somehow favored by the Gods!! The Great Alexander and Julius Caesar suffered from it. Golden retrievers suffer from this too.
